Moisture sensor A419

Moisture sensor A419 is designed for continuous, non-contact, automatic control of moisture content of paper and board, as well as of other sheet materials and granular products. The moisture sensor can operate autonomously or as part of local automated information and control systems at various enterprises.

Applications in the pulp and paper industry:

  • waste paper reception
  • loading of wastepaper into pulper
  • before press section to evaluate and set press mode
  • between presses to monitor paper parameters during press runs
  • before drying to calculate and adjust the drying schedule
  • in front of size press to monitor the dryness of the paper and to ensure optimum sizing
  • in front of drying presses for press setup corrections.

Application in particleboard production:

  • at the inlet of the dryer to calculate the drying capacity (moisture content of raw material over 35%)
  • after drying to assess the quality of prepared wood (moisture content of raw materials of 1-2%)
  • during the mat forming phase (to evaluate the water content of the binder and to estimate the particleboard classification according to moisture resistance, density and emissivity).

Application in  the production of fuel pellets:

  • drying of raw materials (output moisture content of 12-14%)
  • after the pelletizing process (not more than 10%)

The moisture sensor can be also used with these products:

  • peat
  • chips
  • sawdust
  • silo
  • tobacco
  • food crops (mustard, coffee, wheat, etc.)
  • sand
